Already able to make a case as one of the greatest New York Knicks players ever, Jalen Brunson made history while leading his team to a dominating win on Friday night.
The Knicks' leader scored 27 points as part of an incredibly efficient shooting performance in New York's 127-98 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Brunson connected on 11-of-17 shots from the field for 64.7% and even went 4-of-6 from long range.
But Brunson, 29, will likely remember this game as more than just a regular big game. He surpassed 7,000 points as a Knick, becoming the fastest to reach the milestone in franchise history.
Brunson hit the mark in the first quarter of his 265th game as a member of the Knicks, showing his individual prowess since signing on as a free agent in 2022 after spending four seasons as an ascending star in Dallas with the Mavericks.

He achieved this milestone in just 265 games, marking the fewest games to reach 7k points in franchise history! pic.twitter.com/lA0Ux2f9MB
He also added seven rebounds and three assists on the night.
Brunson is averaging 26.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game with a 46.8% shooting clip this season.
And based on his quick success, both for himself and for his team, Brunson is quickly becoming a Knicks legend. In addition to all the points, he's been an All-Star in three-straight seasons, a member of the All-NBA Second Team twice and he led the Knicks to the organization's first trip to the Eastern Conference Finals in 25 years last postseason.
Now, for Brunson, the only thing left to achieve is to get the Knicks one step further into the NBA Finals, which would be the team's first appearance since 1999. Then, once that far, the next step to basketball immortality and Knicks royalty is leading one of the NBA's marquee franchises to its first championship since 1973.
