In a class with few clear options at quarterback, Taylen Green set himself apart with a historic scouting combine performance.
The former Arkansas Razorback, who measured six feet, five-and-7/8 inches and weighed 227 pounds, set quarterback combine records in the broad jump (11'2") and vertical jump (43.5"), breaking the previous marks set in both categories by Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (10'9", 40.5"), the No. 4 overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Green also ran an unofficial 4.37-second 40-yard dash, 0.02 seconds short of the record set by Reggie McNeal, who transitioned to wide receiver at the pro level.
While the results don't guarantee he'll have a long or successful NFL career, Green's performance was the kind that could cause front offices to consider him as a more valuable flier option among the second tier of quarterback prospects.

While other prospects in his range will only make an NFL roster as a quarterback, Green has the talent to make a team as a jack-of-all-trades weapon. And that's the fallback option. With the right development, his ceiling might be the highest of any quarterback in the 2026 class.
NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah noted Green must work on "being more consistent with his accuracy" during Saturday’s telecast from Indianapolis, something that could limit how far he rises. Over four seasons as a starting quarterback with the Boise State Broncos (2022-23) and at Arkansas (2024-25), Green completed 60.1 percent of his pass attempts and threw 35 interceptions at a rate of 2.9 percent. Per Pro Football Reference data, the league averages in the two categories last season were 64.3 percent and 2.2 percent, respectively.
But Green's dual-threat ability — he rushed for 2,405 yards and scored 35 rushing touchdowns in college — and extensive starting history will make him attractive to teams looking for a cheap option at quarterback. All it takes is one to fall in love.
Green put himself on the map after showing out in Indianapolis. By the end of the combine, he could be one of the weekend's biggest winners.
