Contact with Corey Day in the closing laps of Saturday's NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Circuit of the Americas relegated polesitter Connor Zilisch to a 21st-place finish on Saturday. But don't expect, Zilisch, who called Day a "hack" over the radio, to seek out Day's company anytime soon.
"If he wants to talk to me, he can come talk to me," Zilisch said post-race, per Jeff Gluck of The Athletic. "I'm not going to go find him and tell him he's an idiot. He can tell himself that."
It's the second week in a row that Day, a 20-year-old NOAPS rookie driver, was the center of attention in the NOAPS race for the wrong reasons. Contact between Day and other drivers resulted in two crashes at Atlanta on Feb. 21.
"When you're racing at this high of a level, you gotta clean it up," Zilisch said. "I'm sure he'll figure it out. He's talented. He certainly has done multiple things weeks in a row that people are getting mad about."

Day told Gluck that he believed the oil pan on his No. 17 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet was coming loose before the incident.
"Didn't want to do that at all," Day said. "I'd [have] actually loved to follow him for a couple laps and maybe try to learn something."
Suffice to say, Day will be under the microscope next week at Phoenix Raceway as he tries to move past Saturday and improve his image. Day is eighth in the O'Reilly Series standings through three races after finishing fourth at Atlanta and fifth at COTA on Saturday.
