Las Vegas Raiders edge-rusher Maxx Crosby continues to be a prime trade candidate this offseason.
On Friday morning, The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported, "Maxx Crosby is drawing serious interest around the league." Russini mentioned the Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens specifically as potential suitors for Crosby.
The five-time Pro Bowler, fresh off another strong season with 10 sacks, has expressed frustration with the Raiders' rebuilding woes, prompting speculation that a deal could materialize before free agency opens on March 11.
Crosby's contract — a three-year, $106.5M extension through 2029 with $91.5M guaranteed — carries a hefty $35.8M cap hit in 2026, but his elite production makes him an asset for contenders. The Raiders, eyeing a full reset under new leadership, are reportedly seeking a haul of multiple first-round picks for the 28-year-old.
For the Cowboys, who struggled in run defense and couldn't generate pressure after trading edge-rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, Crosby would represent a defensive cornerstone. Owner Jerry Jones has vowed an aggressive offseason, restructuring contracts for Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and Tyler Smith to create over $66M in cap space, leaving Dallas with roughly $9.7M available.
A realistic package could avoid two first-rounders but still entice Vegas: Dallas' 2026 first-round pick (No. 20 from Green Bay), a 2027 second-rounder and edge-rusher Sam Williams. This adds to the Raiders' draft capital and gives a plug-and-play defender, while Dallas pairs Crosby with Quinnen Williams for a revamped front.
The Ravens, meanwhile, endured a sack rate of just 4.6% — second-worst in franchise history — exacerbated by Nnamdi Madubuike's season-ending injury. With $18.5M in cap space and potentially more on the horizon, general manager Eric DeCosta could target Crosby to complement Roquan Smith under new head coach Jesse Minter.
A realistic offer would be Baltimore's 2026 first-rounder (No. 14), its 2027 second-round pick (the Ravens have room to spare) and defensive tackle Travis Jones (a 2022 third-rounder with upside). This package gives Vegas a high pick and immediate interior help, while the Ravens gain a relentless edge presence to chase a Super Bowl.
Ultimately, Crosby's trade hinges on the Raiders' rebuild timeline, but these packages balance value without gutting either suitor's future. If executed, either deal could reshape the NFC East or AFC North landscape.
