Happy 53rd birthday to New York Yankees manager, Aaron Boone!
Boone was a third-generation Major League Baseball player, playing 12 big league seasons with Cincinnati, New York, Cleveland, Florida, Washington and Houston. His most iconic moment came in his brief stint with the Yankees, when he hit a walkoff home run in Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS against the Boston Red Sox to send the Yankees back to the World Series.
After his playing career, he spent time as a member of the media before being hired to replace Joe Girardi as Yankees manager ahead of the 2018 season. He’s gotten New York to the playoffs all but one year at the helm, and helped lead them to the 2024 World Series where they lost to the Dodgers.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Boone is 697-497 as manager of the New York Yankees and the fourth-longest tenured manager in MLB today. With that being said, how many of the MLB managers to start the 2026 season can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
