Once again, the Cleveland Browns have more questions than answers at the quarterback position.
However, regardless of who's behind center next season, they needed to retool their offensive line, as all their starters were set to hit free agency. With that in mind, they signed former Green Bay Packers star Elgton Jenkins, who can play at both left guard and center.
Jenkins comes with a strong pedigree, but more than that, he also brings elite pass-protection to the table.
Jenkins has only given up nine total sacks in his seven-year career. That's a grand total of 6,358 snaps, or one sack every 706.4 snaps (via Pro Football Focus).
The Browns saw Shedeur Sanders take a whopping 23 sacks in just eight games played (seven starts) last season. That's nearly three sacks per game.
Granted, some of that was on Sanders, who often held onto the ball for way longer than he should've. Then again, he kept running into collapsed pockets and trying to fight for his life on almost every dropback.
As things stand now, there are no guarantees that new head coach Todd Monken will choose Sanders over Deshaun Watson, Dillon Gabriel or anyone the Browns might add in free agency or the NFL Draft.
Even so, this should be Sanders' job to lose after closing the season as the starter, and the Browns would be wise to give him a chance to prove what he can do with improved pass-protection and more talent around him.
