Video: Wyndham Clark’s dating analogy about drivers nearly leaves Kay Adams blushing

Wyndham Clark has a unique perspective on his frequent driver changes in the 2026 PGA Tour season.

During an appearance on the “Up & Adams” show ahead of Thursday’s start of the 2026 THE PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., the 32-year-old Clark discussed with host Kay Adams the shuffling he’s been doing with his drivers. The analogy he used to clear things up seemed to catch Adams by surprise.

“I mean, sometimes it’s nice to have a week-long girlfriend,” Clark said. He later said he was joking, but he didn’t stutter either.

"Sometimes it's nice to have a week-long girlfriend… I haven't found the right one. When you find the right one, you lock it down."

Clark has made at least four driver changes as of his last start at the Genesis Invitational in February. The three-time PGA Tour winner is also a brand-free agent, giving him the freedom to test different drivers until he finds one he feels comfortable with.

“I’m a free agent, and you know, sometimes it’s nice to spice things up, as you said, the honeymoon stage is gonna be really nice,” added Clark.

The former U.S. Open is still looking for his first win of the season. His best finish to date was a T-13 at the American Express in January. Since then, he’s gone 4-for-4 but never finished better than a T-35 in any of those starts.

Statistically speaking, Clark is only 78th among PGA Tour players in total driving (171) and 41st in driving distance (310.5).
