Happy 54th birthday to one-time Pro Bowl quarterback and Super Bowl XXV champion, Trent Dilfer!
Dilfer was selected with the sixth-overall pick in the 1994 NFL Draft out of Fresno State by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’d start two games as a rookie before taking over as the full-time QB1 in 1995. He made his lone Pro Bowl in his 1997 campaign, when he threw for 2,555 yards and 21 touchdowns, but never won more than 10 games in his six seasons with the Bucs.
He signed as a free agent with the Ravens in 2000, where he backed up Tony Banks for the first seven games before taking over as the starter in Week 9. That decision for head coach Brian Billeck paid off, as Dilfer went 7-1 in the regular season and helped guide the Ravens to a championship in Super Bowl XXXV against the Giants.
Dilfer would play six more seasons between the Seahawks, Browns and 49ers, but never started more than 11 games in a campaign from 2001 to his retirement after 2007.
Since retiring, Dilfer has spent time both the media and coaching ranks, and he was most recently the head coach at UAB where he went 9-21 before being fired mid-season this year.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. While Dilfer’s numbers aren’t eye-popping, he’s still a Super Bowl champion and the all-time wins record holder for a Tampa Bay Buccaneer quarterback with 38. With that being said, can you name the quarterbacks with the most wins for each NFL franchise?
Good luck!
