Spring training games do not count in the standings or on the back of the baseball card. For a trio of Los Angeles Dodgers relievers, that is a good thing.
The Milwaukee Brewers managed to exact a small measure of revenge for being swept out of the NLCS by beating the Dodgers 24-9 on Monday. However, the final score came down to the performances of pitchers Jerming Rosario, Jack Dreyer and Lucas Wepf.
That trio of Dodgers pitchers managed to allow a combined 15 runs, 14 earned, on nine hits, four walks, a hit batsman and an error. Each pitcher faced five batters without recording an out.
Dreyer is the only one of that trio with any major league experience. He emerged as a key part of the Dodgers bullpen as a rookie in 2025, finishing third on the team with 67 appearances as he posted a 2.95 ERA and a 1.048 WHiP over his 76.1 innings, striking out 74 batters with 24 walks. Dreyer made four appearances in the postseason as well, not allowing a run in his four innings.
Neither Rosario nor Wepf is considered among the Dodgers' top 30 prospects. Rosario spent the 2025 season with the Double-A Tulsa Drillers, posting a 4.67 ERA and a 1.582 WHiP in his 79 innings, striking out 87 batters with 51 walks. Wepf had more success in Double-A in 2025, posting a 2.79 ERA and a 1.207 WHiP in his 29 innings, striking out 36 batters with 16 walks.
In the end, it is just one spring training game that does not mean anything. However, as Opening Day approaches, the Dodgers had to have expected better from Dreyer, Rosario and Wepf than to have all three fail to record an out.
