As uncertainty continues to loom over the Philadelphia Eagles' offseason, depending on what happens with A.J. Brown, they have decided to add another wideout to the mix.
Philadelphia signed Marquise Brown to a one-year deal worth up to $6.5 million on Tuesday.
While signing Marquise Brown doesn't in any way signal he's a replacement for A.J. Brown, it's a low-risk move with the potential for a tremendous upside. And if the upside does materialize, it would then help alleviate the loss of one of the best receivers in football.
Referred to as "Hollywood" Brown and the cousin of controversial former All-Pro receiver Antonio Brown, Marquise will now play for his fourth NFL team since entering the league as a first-round pick out of Oklahoma by the Baltimore Ravens in 2019.

Brown, 28, has shown flashes of the top talent the Ravens once viewed as their future No. 1 receiver, but has been mostly an undercard weapon in recent years. He's coming off a season in which he caught 49 passes for 587 yards and scored five touchdowns for the Kansas City Chiefs. He did play in 16 games in 2025 after only appearing in two the prior season due to injury.
Brown's best season came in 2021, his third year with Baltimore, when he made 91 receptions for 1,008 yards and found the end zone six times. He's caught 371 passes while totaling 4,322 yards and scoring 33 touchdowns across 90 games in seven seasons with the Ravens, the Chiefs and even a couple seasons with the Arizona Cardinals in between.
But no matter what type of production the Eagles find in Marquise Brown, they will still likely use an early round pick on receiver talent if they do, in fact, trade A.J. Brown. And if they don't and continue staying the course, Marquise's play could serve as a bonus for Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia offense.
Marquise Brown's speed offers the potential for big plays no matter who else is around him. With just over $46 million in salary-cap space, per Spotrac, entering the week, which ranks eighth in the NFL, the Eagles can afford to take risks and look at contingency plans dependent on what they decide to do with their current disgruntled top option.
