Former Cincinnati Bengals LB Logan Wilson retires from NFL

Logan Wilson is calling it a career after six seasons in the NFL.

He's not going to go down as the longest-tenured player in NFL history, but six seasons is a long time for a former third-round pick out of Wyoming.

Wyoming has sent 85 players to the NFL since 1936, and Logan is absolutely one of the Cowboys' standouts alongside quarterback Josh Allen. In fact, Wilson and Allen played together at Wyoming in 2016 and 2017.

Allen went No. 7 overall to the Buffalo Bills in the 2018 NFL Draft. A few drafts later, in 2020, Wilson was selected in the third round (pick No. 65) by the Cincinnati Bengals

"After a lot of thought and prayer, I've decided to officially retire from the NFL," Wilson wrote on Instagram (h/t ESPN). "From being a Wyoming kid with big dreams to hearing my name called in the 3rd round of the 2020 Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals... football gave me more than I ever could have imagined."

Wilson played for Cincinnati for five and a half seasons. He started 65 games and notched 541 tackles and 11 interceptions. He was a big part of the Bengals' Super Bowl LVI run.

Logan Wilson played a big role in Cincinnati Bengals' run to Super Bowl LVI

"That 2021 playoff run was something special -- the interception in Tennessee to send us to the AFC Championship, beating Kansas City to win the AFC, and taking the field in the Super Bowl," Wilson wrote. "Those moments and that locker room are something I'll carry with me forever. And the best part of all, my daughter was born there."

Wilson was voted a team captain for the Bengals in 2025, but was on the wrong side of an in-season benching. The Bengals traded him to the Dallas Cowboys at the 2025 NFL trade deadline for a 2026 seventh-round pick.

He played seven games for Dallas, notching 24 tackles and a forced fumble with only one start.

From Casper, Wyoming, he was the Mountain West Freshman of the Year in 2016 and first-team All-Mountain West in 2019.

"When I look back at my career, I just feel grateful," Wilson wrote. "Not many Wyoming kids get the chance to live out their dreams in the NFL, and I never took a single snap for granted."
