Tom Brady willing to make another football comeback in this way

Living legend Tom Brady famously retired from playing in early 2022 but later unretired that same offseason to serve as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' starting quarterback for one final campaign.

Thus, eyebrows are understandably raised whenever Brady teases that he hasn't yet thrown his last pass in a meaningful game.

"Never say never" for another Tom Brady comeback?

During a recent appearance on ABC's "Good Morning America" program, Brady was asked if he could "go for the gold" and feature for the Team USA flag football team that will participate in the 2028 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles.

According to Natasha Dye of People, Brady quipped that he "would never say never" regarding such an opportunity. However, Brady also acknowledged that "it is probably unlikely, just so you know," that he would participate in that competition.

Brady played at a Most-Valuable-Player level into his 40s, but he will turn 49 years old this coming August. During the "GMA" segment, he suggested his window to possibly play for Team USA has closed. However, he is willing to offer his services differently.

"I think for these young guys," Brady said about current NFL players, "it’s good for them to do it. If I ever wanted to come in as an advisory role, as a coach, something like that, that’s probably better suited for me. I’ll let the young Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen get out there and try to win a gold medal for the U.S."

Tom Brady insists he's done playing

Of course, Brady doesn't need to add any more football-related responsibilities to his plate to stay busy. He serves as Fox's lead in-game analyst during NFL seasons, and he reportedly is "the de facto boss when it comes to football matters" for the Las Vegas Raiders as a minority owner of that franchise.

"I love my Fox job," Brady added during the segment. "I love doing my broadcasting — a big commitment to that. I love the NFL. I love the Raiders. I love working on that and different projects I have. So I have a lot going on."

While it's fun to imagine Brady possibly taking the field in a competitive setting for one last time, it sounds like the seven-time Super Bowl champion has closed the door on that chapter of his life.
