Sky's Angel Reese makes first post after WNBA avoids lockout

Angel Reese has had an eventful offseason, as she played in her second season of Unrivaled's 3-on-3 league, before suiting up for Team USA in the FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament in Puerto Rico.

For Unrivaled's Rose Basketball Club, Reese averaged 13.0 points and 10.3 rebounds. Unfortunately, she and her squad were unable to repeat as champions, as they were bounced in the opening round of the playoffs. For Team USA, Reese averaged 6.8 points and 8.0 rebounds as the Stars and Stripes went on to go 5-0, and got a lot of young players like Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers and Reese experience ahead of the World Cup and Olympics.

With both events coming to an end, there was growing concern that the WNBA's season could be delayed or even canceled due to the league's negotiations with the Players Association. On Wednesday, the two parties agreed to a new deal, which will see the salary cap start at $7 million and the minimum salary rise to $300,000.

With the season no longer at risk of undergoing a lockout and it being back on schedule, Reese took to social media to celebrate what will be her third year with the Chicago Sky.

"YEAR 3 LOADING….," wrote Reese on X.

In his first two seasons in the WNBA, the former LSU star has made the All-Star team both years, led the WNBA in rebounding in both seasons and has averaged a double-double each season.

Now that the WNBA has a new CBA, the next month will be a big one with the expansion drafts taking place on April 6. The following day will mark the beginning of the free agency negotiation period, which should see Reese get some much-needed help as the Sky have gone 23-61 in her two years.

Needless to say, year three for Reese could be a big one.
