Michigan players went nuts for Dusty May’s son’s epic moment

The Michigan Wolverines romped past the Tennessee Volunteers on Sunday for a trip to the Final Four, but one of the loudest cheers of the day came for a shot in garbage time.

The Wolverines got the chance to empty their bench during the late stages of their 95-62 victory on Sunday at the United Center in Chicago, Ill. That meant Charlie May, the son of head coach Dusty May, got some rare game action.

May made the most of it. He knocked down a three-pointer from the corner with about a minute to play, sending the Michigan bench and fans into a frenzy.

May is a senior walk-on playing for his father at Michigan. This was just the second shot he has made all season, having also knocked down a three in an early season blowout of Oakland. The fact that he did it in an Elite Eight game in which his team reached the Final Four just makes it better.

At the rate Michigan is going, the Mays have a chance to create even more memories together. They will face Arizona in the Final Four, and they look like they will be very tough for anyone to stop.
