Isaiah Evans' old Instagram handle will age poorly after Duke's shocking Elite Eight loss to UConn

Guard Isaiah Evans had a huge hand in the Duke Blue Devils' stunning loss to the Connecticut Huskies in the Elite Eight on Sunday.

The Huskies, who trailed 44-29 at halftime of Sunday's game, mounted an epic comeback, which culminated in UConn stealing a pass near halfcourt and guard Braylon Mullins hitting a 35-foot three-pointer to seal a 73-72 win.

Evans didn't contest the shot, leaving his hand down on the play. Fans reminded him of that after they discovered his old Instagram handle.

Before Duke's loss to UConn, Evans' Instagram name was "getuhhandup." He was probably referring to how he thinks defenders better get their hands up when he's shooting the ball.

Evans is a solid shooter. He led the Blue Devils in three-pointers made this season (100-of-276 attempts, 36.2 percent). Against UConn, though, the guard went cold. He scored only seven points and shot 1-of-4 from three-point range. In light of his poor performance and the defensive mistake, he has since changed his Instagram handle to "showtime.slim."

Let's not pin all blame on the 20-year-old guard. Duke guard Cayden Boozer said he should've been "strong with the ball" before throwing the errant pass that led to Mullins' shot.

Boozer added he'll "replay" that mistake for the rest of his career. Duke head coach Jon Scheyer will rerun even more plays in his head following the second-half collapse.

"It's easy to look at that play. I look at every play that happened, especially in that second half. This is not about one play," the coach said postgame, per Noah Nussbaum of the New York Post. "It's about every play that put us in that position."

When Duke found itself in that position, though, it almost looked like the Blue Devils forgot what to do. And many of their players forgot "Hand down, man down."
