49ers appear to have made final decision about possibly signing Joey Bosa

The San Francisco 49ers are always in the business of adding great players.

Some of those players, however, aren't exactly durable. That's why, since they've already committed to Nick Bosa, it made sense to pair him with his brother, fellow pass-rusher Joey Bosa.

The former Los Angeles Chargers star is a free agent after a brief tenure with the Buffalo Bills, and San Francisco has been floated as his most likely destination.

However, it seems like that won't be the case. Talking at the annual meetings in Arizona, Niners GM John Lynch said he might be too pricey for them.

The 49ers won't pursue Joey Bosa

"I know Mama Bosa would love that, but I don't know if we can afford him," Lynch said, per Matt Barrows of The Athletic.

Spotrac projects Bosa's new contract to be for two years and $27.4M, an annual average value of $13.7M. Per Over The Cap, the Niners are sitting on $31M in cap space, so they could probably sort something out.

The Niners are also trying to rework Trent Williams' deal to clear more cap space, so Lynch is clearly trying to clear the books and get some financial flexibility for in-season moves.

Joey Bosa is as talented as they come, and the Niners could have one of the toughest pass-rushing duos in the game with him and his brother.

That said, he's struggled to stay on the field for most of his career, and Kyle Shanahan's team already has enough issues with injuries as it is.
