Thanks to the latest Victor Wembanyama monster performance, the San Antonio Spurs beat the Chicago Bulls 129-114 on Monday night.
In fact, Wembanyama even set a new season-high and wasn't far away from a career-high in the win.
Wembanyama scored 41 points in 31 minutes with a 63% shooting clip, connecting on 17-of-27 shots from the field and sinking three triples as the Spurs won their ninth-straight contest.
His 41 points set a new season-best and were only nine points shy of matching the top scoring game of his career - he reached 50 points on November 13, 2024, against the Washington Wizards.

Wembanyama's previous scoring high for the 2025-26 season came way back on Oct. 12 when he made it to 40 in a win at Dallas. He was also on the verge of another 40-point game earlier this month on March 10, posting 39 125-116 win over the Boston Celtics in what some could argue was an NBA Finals preview matchup.
But because it's Wembanyama, scoring was far from all he did to help lead his team. He completed the double-double with 16 rebounds and then dished out four assists to go along with three blocks and a steal.
Wembanyama is now averaging 24.5 points, which would be the best full-season finish of his career if it holds, 11.4 boards, 3.1 assists and 3.1 blocks per game through 60 games.
The Spurs' placement in the standings helps Wembanyama's MVP case just as much as his statistics. San Antonio holds a 57-18 record and sits only two games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference.
