Veteran wide receiver and current free agent Odell Beckham Jr. would clearly like to rejoin a New York Giants team that was his first NFL home from the opening night of the 2014 draft through the 2018 season.
It's unclear if people within the Giants feel as strongly as Beckham about a potential reunion, but it seems as if the club hasn't ruled it out.
On Tuesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN reported that Beckham "came to the Arizona Biltmore during the NFL's annual meetings and met with New York Giants coach John Harbaugh on Monday about potentially joining the team."
"Beckham also stated his case to team brass," Raanan continued. "Multiple sources told ESPN no deal is imminent. But there is some degree of interest from the Giants, even though Beckham did not play this past season."
Beckham had Harbaugh as a head coach when the two were with the Baltimore Ravens during the 2023 season. More recently, the 33-year-old receiver recorded just nine receptions for 55 yards while with the Miami Dolphins during the 2024 campaign. Beckham hasn't played in a regular-season game since Dec. 8 of that year.
Earlier this week, Harbaugh raised eyebrows when he revealed that he and Beckham have "maintained a really great relationship" since the 2023 season. It sounds like others within the Giants would warmly welcome Beckham into the facility for at least some workouts over the next handful of months.
"The veteran receiver has the support of some of the current Giants players," Raanan added about Beckham. "Multiple sources told ESPN that quarterback Jaxson Dart and wide receiver Malik Nabers have informed the team that they would support adding Beckham. Dart mentioned earlier this offseason that he spoke to Beckham about Harbaugh after he was hired as the Giants coach. Nabers went on Instagram recently and publicly petitioned for Beckham."
Giants icon and current NFL analyst Tiki Barber recently suggested that signing Beckham would bring an "unintended circus" to an organization that is in the early days of Harbaugh's reign as its undisputed leader. Dart and Nabers clearly disagree with such takes, but it remains to be seen if the Giants will want to find out if Beckham has anything left in the tank.
