Cowboys' Jerry Jones has a weird proposal for George Pickens

The Dallas Cowboys still don't know whether George Pickens will be there for OTAs.

They used the franchise tag to keep Pickens in town, but they have yet to agree to a long-term deal, and he may not want to show up until he puts pen to paper.

That's why team owner/GM Jerry Jones has a rather interesting proposal for him.

According to NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo, Jones would love it if Pickens were to ditch agent David Mulugheta.

Jerry Jone says that George Pickens should ditch his agent

"I asked Jerry Jones if George Pickens has said he wants negotiations to go through agent David Mulugheta. Jones said he’s talked to agents over the years and has no issue doing that. But…'If he worked without an agent, he’d save a lot of money.' After a pause, he added: 'With me,'" Garafolo wrote on X.

The comments may have been tongue-in-cheek. Jones usually tells it as it is, and people don't always appreciate his sense of humor or incendiary comments about players.

However, Jones does have a history with Mulugheta. The agent also represents Micah Parsons, and negotiations between the two turned sour before Parsons was eventually traded to the Packers.

Pickens and the Cowboys have until July 15 to work something out. He's coming off the best season of his career and can give the team an elite one-two punch with CeeDee Lamb.

However, he also comes with some baggage, and with Jones' history of dragging out negotiations for as long as he can, things might get worse before they get any better in Arlington.
