Body cam footage has emerged showing Tiger Woods in the moments after his March 27 car crash.
In the footage, Woods is seen kneeling in the grass near his overturned Range Rover. He assures police that he is fine and also gives his own version of events.
“I looked down at my phone … and all of a sudden — boom,” Woods can be heard saying.
The video also shows a brief interaction with the driver of the trailer Woods collided with. He said he tried to get out of the way, but there was nothing he could do before Woods crashed into the back of the trailer.
Woods is not arrested in the video, and it is hard to get a read on the state he was in at the time. Police documents said Woods was lethargic, slow, and swearing profusely, and that he demonstrated “several signs of impairment.”
Woods was ultimately arrested on three charges, including DUI and refusal to submit. He has announced that he is putting his golf career on hold to seek treatment for his substance abuse issues and plans to travel abroad in order to check himself into rehab.
