A.J. Brown reportedly feels this way about Eagles amid ongoing trade rumors

The latest report about alleged issues that have impacted the Philadelphia Eagles over the past several years suggested that the working relationship between Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receiver A.J. Brown may be damaged beyond repair.

Hurts almost certainly isn't going anywhere before 2027 at the earliest, while Brown continues to be the subject of trade rumors this spring.

On the latest edition of "Yahoo Sports Daily," NFL insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk indicated that Brown would welcome a fresh start elsewhere this offseason.

Why Eagles, A.J. Brown's divorce continues to be likely

"There's a sense around the league that the Eagles are definitely going to move on from A.J. Brown," Florio explained. "He doesn't want to be there. That's the belief. And the team is ready to move him. And I know of one person with a different team who says he has intimate knowledge -- and I have no reason to doubt it -- of the Eagles' cap situation now and into the future. And there's a belief that if they don't move him now, they are going to have a potential cap catastrophe next year if they move him then."

Back in the spring of 2022, Brown and Hurts were seen as "best friends." That seemingly stopped being the case by the time the 2024 season came to an end, and the two were on different pages multiple times during games this past campaign.

NFL people continue to think A.J. Brown will end up here

Brown signed a three-year, $96M contract extension with $84M in guaranteed money in the spring of 2024. Due to that agreement, he likely won't receive a desired trade before June 1 for reasons related to the salary cap. Numerous stories have linked Brown with the New England Patriots, but they allegedly may have some concerns about his history of knee problems. Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel held that role with the Tennessee Titans when Brown was with the Titans from 2019 through the 2021 season.

"So I think after June 1, that's when the cap charge will be much lower this year, and the bulk of the dead-cap money would hit the cap in 2027. That's when I think we're going to see A.J. Brown get traded to the Patriots," Florio added during the segment.

It's unknown if reports claiming that Eagles general manager Howie Roseman wants a first-round draft pick and a second-round choice for Brown are accurate. It sounds like Roseman still has roughly two months left to field calls about Brown's services before a trade will be finalized.
