Kentucky's Mouhamed Dioubate needs to find right fit in transfer portal

Kentucky Wildcats forward Mouhamed Dioubate is going to be one of the more intriguing players in the college basketball transfer portal.

Dioubate, a 6-foot-7 junior from Queens, New York, is expected to enter his name in the transfer portal when it opens up on April 7.

He spent the past season at Kentucky, averaging 8.8. points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game.

He played in 21.6 minutes per game this season for the Wildcats and averaged 54.2% shooting from the field. Unfortunately, his three-point shooting was suspect, as he averaged just 21.4% from three-point range.

Joe Tipton of On3 reported the news:

Mouhamed Dioubate has the potential to be more than a role player

Dioubate was a rotational player last season for the Wildcats, but there is reason to believe that he can still blossom as a college basketball player if he finds the right situation in his next school.

He spent the first two seasons of his college career with the Alabama Crimson Tide, and he was a strong role player in Alabama's Final Four trip in 2024 and the Tide's Elite Eight appearance in 2025.

Heck, in this past tournament, Dioubate scored 17 points and put up eight rebounds in Kentucky's Round 1 overtime win over Santa Clara.

He's a former four-star recruit, ranked as the No. 22 power forward in the 2023 class, according to 247Sports.

There's more than a role player in there somewhere, but we haven't seen it yet through three college seasons.
