Texas A&M's incredible recruiting class gets stronger with elite WR

Mike Elko and the Texas A&M Aggies have put another big recruiting win up on the board for the 2027 class.

This was a big-time recruiting battle, with the Florida Gators, Miami Hurricanes and Alabama Crimson Tide also being heavily involved.

Ultimately, though, Elko and the Aggies were able to win out for four-star wide receiver Jaden Upshaw from Leesburg, Georgia.

Checking in as the No. 11 wide receiver in the 2027 class, according to the 247Sports Composite, Upshaw committed to Texas A&M on Wednesday.

Upshaw committed while among family and friends at Lee County High School, but this was a decision that could be traced back to a visit to College Station back in 2025 to watch the Aggies take on the Florida Gators at Kyle Field.

Visit to Texas A&M sealed the deal with four-star WR Jaden Upshaw

“Ever since I went out there for the Florida game, it always felt like home,” Upshaw said, according to Joe Whitfield of The Albany Herald. “The atmosphere was crazy — probably the biggest crowd I’ve ever been in. I hadn’t been back since November, but they were still showing love, even last weekend. They talked about calling it home, and I was ready.”

Upshaw was so ready, in fact, that he told Elko that he had committed to Texas A&M two months ago.

That silent commitment was kept quiet until Wednesday, but it's a big one for the Aggies.

Upshaw checks in at 6-foot-1, 196 pounds and he put up 47 catches for 902 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior in high school.

He's Texas A&M's 11th commitment in a class that's ranked No. 2 in the nation.
