Florida forward Alex Condon makes decision on 2026-27

Alex Condon has been a big part of the equation for the Florida Gators over the past three seasons.

A junior from Australia and a former Australian Rules Football star, Condon averaged 15.1 points 7.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game for the Gators this past season.

Checking in at 6-foot-11, 230 pounds with the ability to shoot 55.6% from the field, Condon has been a popular name among NBA Draft analysts.

There was a world in which he declared for the 2026 NBA Draft and tried his luck in the pros. However, Condon will reportedly be returning for his senior season in Gainesville.

This was not a guaranteed outcome for the Gators. Condon was on the fence about taking the shot at the NBA or returning for one more season.

"It's obviously a thought for next year. It's probably around 50-50 right now," Condon told The Gainesville Sun in March. "I don't really know what I'm going to do."

Florida Gators get massive news with return of Alex Condon

Despite being ranked as the No. 30 NBA prospect in ESPN's top 100 for this draft, which would make him a borderline second-round draft pick, Condon has figured that one more year of seasoning at Florida will do the trick for him.

Meanwhile, the Gators still don't know the status of NBA prospects Thomas Haugh and Rueben Chinyelu.

Neither player has declared for the NBA Draft yet, but it's a safe bet to assume that Haugh will, at least. He's ranked as the No. 13 prospect in ESPN's rankings, while Chinyelu checks in at No. 57.
