The Cleveland Browns have some big decisions to make in the NFL Draft on April 23, but for now, they're focusing on what they can control.
Whether they'll add another quarterback to the mix remains to be seen, but they already got to work with the current QB room.
With all eyes set again on the quarterback competition, Shedeur Sanders, Deshaun Watson and Dillon Gabriel joined new head coach Todd Monken for voluntary training camp. Notably, Sanders handled the bulk of the first-team reps, according to ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi.
This is a notable turn of events, given that there was growing speculation about whether Watson would be ahead in the pecking order.

Monken said that everyone would get a chance, but he admitted that recent play would be a factor. Also, he said that the workflow would probably be fluid, so Sanders might not handle first-team reps the next day. That said, this should give everybody a clearer picture of where they stand in the pecking order.
Sanders closed out the season as a starter, so even though he left plenty to be desired at times, it only makes sense that the job is his to lose for now. The Browns could still add someone else to the mix at one point in the draft, but even if that's the case, it looks like the QB competition will ultimately go down between Sanders and Watson. Still, if 2026 is anything like previous years, the Browns will probably have multiple players starting at quarterback for them.
