Chiefs' NFL Draft approach hints at Tyreek Hill decision

The Kansas City Chiefs are taking a clear approach to the NFL Draft.

They used their first three selections to get defensive players, and while that should make defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo quite happy, Patrick Mahomes may not feel the same way.

That's why, given the shortage of potential wide receiver options on the final day of the event, it only makes sense that the Chiefs get Tyreek Hill on the phone.

Perhaps Chiefs GM Brett Veach already knows he's going to get him, which is why he didn't go after another pass-catcher with picks Nos. 9, 29 and 40.

Is a Tyreek Hill reunion in the works?

On paper, the Chiefs did the right thing with these picks. They needed a replacement for Trent McDuffie, and Mansoor Delane should fit that bill.

Chris Jones isn't getting any younger, and the pass-rushing department needed help for George Karlaftis, thus making Peter Woods and R Mason Thomas logical selections.

That said, this team also needs plenty of juice on offense. Rashee Rice has missed time with injuries and suspensions, Xavier Worthy has been inconsistent, and Hollywood Brown just left.

Granted, they bolstered the running game with the addition of reigning Super Bowl LX MVP Kenneth Walker III, but that might not be enough to get this team back to the mountaintop.

There's not that much offensive talent left on the board, and Hill is already familiar with Andy Reid's system and Eric Bieniemy's offense.

They're also probably the only team that will trust him with a big role after watching him miss most of the season with a major injury.

It makes too much sense for both parties, and the Chiefs' draft board is just pointing that way.
