The 2026 NFL Draft has come and gone, and the Detroit Lions are heading out of the event with a bevy of rookies, including first-round pick tackle Blake Miller of Clemson and second-round edge rusher Derrick Moore from the University of Michigan.
In addition to those early picks, the Lions are also getting reaction for their later picks in the draft, including linebacker Jimmy Rolder, cornerback Keith Abney, wide receiver Kendrick Law, defensive tackle Skyler Gill-Howard and defensive lineman Tyre West.
Now, the reaction is pouring in. Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is making his thoughts clear on this 2026 draft class and what he thinks they'll bring to the Motor city.
During a post-draft episode of his podcast with his brother Equanimeous, St. Brown raved about the Detroit Lions' selections in the 2026 Draft.
“They got a tackle that they feel like is a dog. I saw some of his highlights. He looks great. Big dude. I mean, look, I feel like you draft off potential. You draft off what you feel like they can be and their floor,” St. Brown said on the show before talking about Miller. “And I feel like Blake is exactly what we needed. A tackle that has that mean streak in him…I saw some of the highlights, putting dudes on their back, finishing guys.”
St. Brown also had good things to say about the Lions drafting Moore from the Wolverines.
The team's other star edge, Aidan Hutchinson, also hails from the maize and blue. Hutch has also praised the selection, stating on X right after the draft choice, “LFG!! Another Mich Man in the building...love the pick.”
“Round 2, we got an edge, we needed an edge. I know Hutch is probably really happy it’s a guy from Michigan,” St. Brown said regarding Moore. “I think we’re just addressing the needs, and from there we have the nucleus and bringing guys along.”
St. Brown probably isn't going to publicly diss the team's 2026 draft class, so take his comments with that in mind, but it's obvious that he's being sincere in his thoughts on the rookies.
He also makes a good point. General manager Brad Holmes and the Lions basically did what they needed to do in this draft by drafting a tackle and edge early, so they set themselves up for a winning lineup going into the 2026 season.
