Vikings land WR Jauan Jennings, add another playmaker to offense

Wide receiver Jauan Jennings was one of the top free agents still available on the open market going into Thursday. He now has a new home.

The Minnesota Vikings announced that they have agreed to terms with Jennings to a one-year contract that could reportedly be worth up to $13 million for the 2026 NFL season. It continues a big offseason for the Vikings that has seen them completely reshape their passing game.

Jauan Jennings helps improve Minnesota's wide receiver depth

Even though the Vikings already have two outstanding wide receivers in Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, they still needed somebody else to fill the No. 3 spot.

Jennings seems like a perfect fit for it.

He is coming off a 55-catch, 643-yard season with the San Francisco 49ers and is just one year removed from a 77-catch, 975-yard season.

There is some question as to how he will perform outside of Kyle Shanahan's offense, but he is going to a Minnesota team that is going to surround him with impact players on the outside and put him into a strong system run by head coach Kevin O'Connell.

It is also another big-time target for new quarterback Kyler Murray.

The Vikings went into the 2025 season with Super Bowl expectations, but ultimately disappointed in large part to their quarterback play. They are hoping that Murray can help solve that, and they have certainly given him an outstanding wide receiver room to work with.
