Pistons, Cade Cunningham show Cavaliers, Donovan Mitchell who's boss in Game 2

The Detroit Pistons are showing that they're in it to win it. The team has notched a 2-0 lead following Game 2 of their series against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, with a 107-97 final score in Detroit.

The Pistons are showing the NBA who's boss in this series and making a statement, especially when you look at the numbers.

During the game, star guard Cade Cunningham notched 25 points and 10 assists, Tobias Harris scored 21 points and Duncan Robinson score 17 points and made five of nine three-pointers.

On the other side, for the Cavs, Donovan Mitchell scored 31 points and Jarrett Allen had 22 points and seven rebounds, but James Harden fell flat on 10 of 13 shots and had just 10 points. Harden also had four turnovers, including a critical one late in the game when the Cavaliers were only behind by six points.

So, it was a rough game for Harden and the Cavs, in general. But, they'll have a chance to make a comeback during Game 3 on Saturday in Cleveland, where the Cavaliers beat Toronto.

Detroit Pistons Head Coach J.B. Bickerstaff Pumps Up Cade Cunningham

Ahead of Game 2, Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff gave much-deserved props to Cunningham.

"He (Cunningham) is not a one-dimensional or one-way player," he stated. "I think he's one of the top 10 two-way players in our league."

He added: "You look at his steals, the moments where he gets big blocks for us. His willingness to take on challenges, defend multiple positions, and other teams' superstars. He runs from nothing, and he's done it all year for us."

The Detroit Pistons are halfway to their goal of winning this series and advancing, but now, they're heading on the road, so they shouldn't get complacent. And, they won't.

Cunningham and the team know how close it's been in both games, and the final scores don't really reflect that. As the series moves to Cleveland for Games 3 and 4, the Detroit Pistons have to stay alert and energized to get through this series victorious.
