The NFL officially revealed its 2026 schedule on Thursday, and there are several games that immediately stood out and have fans itching for the season to start already.
One of those games occurs in Week 9 as New England Patriots legend Tom Brady is set to return to Gillette Stadium when his former team plays host to the Green Bay Packers.
Only this time, it will be as a broadcaster as the seven-time Super Bowl champion — six of which came with the Patriots — will call the game as he enters his third season in the broadcast booth for Fox.
Brady has called multiple games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — the team he last played for and won his final Super Bowl with in the 2020 season — and even returned to Foxboro in August for his statue unveiling.
However, after two seasons in the booth and one Super Bowl under his belt, Brady will be on the call when the Patriots host the Packers in "America's Game of the Week" at 4:25 p.m. ET on Nov. 8, making it one of several dates to circle for the upcoming season.

Brady spent his first 20 seasons with New England before closing out his legendary career with the Buccaneers from 2020-22. In total, he completed 64.3% of his throws for 89,214 yards with 649 TDs and 212 interceptions.
The former Michigan Wolverine and three-time NFL MVP possesses records in regular-season passing TDs, passing yards, wins (251) and Pro Bowls (15), in addition to his all-time playoff marks for wins by a QB (35), passing yards (13,400) and passing TDs (88). His seven Super Bowl rings, meanwhile, are more than any franchise in the league's storied history, one clear of the six accomplished by the Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers.
The fact that Brady will be returning to the stadium that he experienced the majority of his professional success in is enough to garner a lot of attention already. Combine that with the matchup that will be taking place on the gridiron and it has all the makings for a must-see game.
The Patriots are coming off a loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX and are led by MVP runner-up Drake Maye, who had a breakout 2025 season under head coach Mike Vrabel. The Patriots HC has been the center of attention throughout the offseason amid the controversy with longtime NFL reporter Dianna Russini.
On the other side is the Packers, a franchise that entered the 2025 season with massive expectations following the trade for star pass-rusher Micah Parsons. Ultimately, the All-Pro suffered a season-ending torn left ACL, and the Packers saw their high hopes dashed after a shocking blown lead to the Chicago Bears in the wild-card round.
Both teams head into the 2026 season looking to put those devastating losses behind them, and the Week 9 clash is just one of many opportunities for them to take advantage of, especially for a Packers team that received no favors with a brutal schedule.
For some, the on-field showdown is plenty enough to tune in for and see who comes out on top. With that said, Brady's return to a place he called home for so long — albeit in the booth this time around — is all the more reason to look forward to what should be an interesting game in more ways than one.
