4-star OL Elijah Morrison commits to Clemson over Georgia, Florida and Auburn

Dabo Swinney has always been good on the recruiting trail. That's arguably the main reason he was able to turn the Clemson Tigers into a college football superpower.

Swinney's abilities in the transfer portal are still up in the air because he's been slow to adapt to this new era of college football.

Swinney cleaning up on the 2027 recruiting trail is no surprise to anyone who pays attention, though, and to that point, Clemson just landed another big commitment.

On Thursday, 4-star offensive line recruit Elijah Morrison from Dacula, Georgia, committed to Clemson.

The Georgia Bulldogs, Florida Gators and Auburn Tigers were also in the running, but Clemson won this off the strength of its program.

“The culture and how their environment is set up really stood out,” Morrison told Rivals regarding his commitment. “They have a lot to offer as a program with their culture, the coaches and how they treat their players.”

The 247Sports Composite ranks Morrison as a 3-star and as the No. 27 interior offensive line recruit in the country. Notably, Rivals is higher on him. Rivals considers him a 4-star and ranks him as the No. 24 interior offensive line recruit in the 2027 class.

Whatever the rankings say, he checks in at nearly 6-foot-4, 290 pounds, and he's yet to play his senior season of high school. That type of size can't be taught.

Trip to Clemson sealed the deal for Elijah Morrison and Tigers

Dacula is less than an hour drive away from Athens, Georgia, so Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs were a massive team for Clemson to beat in this one. In fact, for some time, UGA was Morrison's favorite.

A visit to Clemson for the "Elite Retreat" in early March really sealed the deal for the Tigers, though.

“When I went over there, I was just in awe. Everything they do — from player development to how they manage stuff on the field with offensive linemen — it just clicked. When I left that visit, Clemson really made a move for me," Morrison explained.

“After the Elite Retreat was when it really hit me — Clemson could be that school.”

Morrison is the 13th 2027 recruit to choose Clemson so far. It's a class that's ranked No. 16 nationally as things currently stand.
