The New York Knicks are up 2-0 in the NBA Finals after beating the San Antonio Spurs on Friday in a riveting 105-104 victory. This game was a nail-biter for both sides. But Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs just couldn't overcome the Knicks, even on their home court.
Following the game, Wembanyama spoke to the press and sounded, well, dismal. Now, his comments are going viral, as the team prepares for Game 3 and their chance to get on the board in this series. Game 3, however, is at Madison Square Garden, so he'll have to overcome a New York crowd.
After the game, ESPN's "SportsCenter" shared a video clip of Wembanyama talking about the loss.
"I threw that one away," he said. "I messed up."

"I'm still very blurry, and that's the whole problem," Wembanyama added. "You know, we need more poise, more control over the game. I'm not going to go through all the possessions, but that's the general image."
In Game 2, Wembanyama recorded 29 points, nine rebounds, two assists, four blocks and two steals. He played 40 minutes.
Wembanyama is the face of the Spurs, but it's easy to forget that he was only drafted in 2023, so that's a lot of pressure to have on a player during his first appearance in the NBA Finals.
