After months of speculation and back-and-forth, A.J. Brown is finally free from the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Pro-Bowl wideout wanted to be traded, and he's finally reunited with head coach Mike Vrabel in the New England Patriots.
Brown's days in the City of Brotherly Love didn't end as expected, but he never shied away from controversy or letting everyone know exactly how he felt.
That's why it was only fitting that he echoed his thoughts in immortality. As reported by NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, Brown left quite a telling message in the locker room when he departed.
"He was there at the facility to pick up some stuff and say his goodbyes," Garafolo said. "They have pictures of Pro-Bowl players, and A.J. signed his. They have the players sign them. So, he signed it, and for what I was told, he then added, 'The best to ever play here. Always open.'"
From @gmfb: A.J. Brown stopped by the #Eagles’ facility last week to pick up some items, say goodbye and leave a parting message on the wall.

Meanwhile, as for the conspiracy theory floating around on what led to the Brown-Hurts rift, Big Dom and others are adamant it’s bogus. pic.twitter.com/M134pe9j8d
Brown always made it loud and clear that he wasn't happy with his lack of involvement in the passing game.
Jalen Hurts' inability to get him the ball in tight windows reportedly also contributed to Brown's desire to leave Philadelphia, and the Eagles will now turn to DeVonta Smith as their primary pass catcher.
Brown is more than familiar with Vrabel, and he'll now get a chance to showcase his skills in a much more favorable quarterback situation.
Whether the Eagles will keep that message or scrub it to just flip the page on this drama once and for all remains to be seen, but it was certainly a fitting end to this story.
