John Harbaugh inherited a New York Giants team after the 2025 season that needed work, and he's already made a lot of strides toward getting the Giants to where they need to be for 2026. It's not easy coming in as the new head coach of a blockbuster NFL franchise, but it always helps when the team at least has some players in the lineup who have real promise.
Now, one player on the Giants' roster is getting recognized as a possible breakout star ahead of the 2026 season.
In a feature for CBS Sports, Zachary Pereles picked one under-the-radar breakout star candidate for every NFC team ahead of 2026. For the Giants, he loves running back Tyrone Tracy Jr.
Even though Tracy got overshadowed by rookie Cam Skattebo during the 2025 season, up until Skattebo was injured, of course, he's an underrated talent that's just ready to bloom.
"Name the three Giants to record at least 1,000 yards from scrimmage in each of their first two NFL seasons. Saquon Barkley, yes. Odell Beckham Jr., yes. The third? That's right: Tyrone Tracy Jr.," Pereles wrote. "He watched Cam Skattebo take over the lead role in the backfield last year before Skattebo got hurt, and then Tracy came back and showed his talent as a runner and a pass catcher."
Tracy showed his stuff all season, especially after Skattebo's injury, and closed out the season with 159 yards against the Dallas Cowboys. Don't be surprised to see him become one of Jaxson Dart's favorite targets in 2026.
