Kansas City Chiefs star wide receiver Rashee Rice made the rounds for all the wrong reasons again this offseason.
The SMU product was forced to serve a 30-day jail sentence after violating his probation with a positive THC test.
To add insult to injury, Rice was just recovering from knee surgery, and while it was a minor procedure, he wouldn't have access to the team's facilities while in jail.
Even so, they may have dodged a bullet. According to head coach Andy Reid, Rice might be a full go for training camp.
"I think he will be. He gets out [of jail] next week. We'll see where it goes. He'll be back up here and working," Reid said, per ESPN's Nate Taylor.

Given the procedure, Rice was slated to miss OTAs and mandatory minicamp anyway.
He was given a two-month recovery timeframe, though he was expected to use the team's state-of-the-art facilities and medical resources during that time. With 30 days in jail, his recovery might not be going as well or as smoothly as expected.
Rice was already in the spotlight for his erratic behavior off the field, especially now that he's entering a contract year.
The Chiefs have always been high on him and his talents, but making a long-term, big-time financial commitment to him could do more harm than good.
Nonetheless, they've remained supportive throughout this entire saga, so he might still secure a big payday if he's healthy and plays well this season.
