The 'NBA blocks champions' quiz

Happy 37th birthday to two-time NBA block champion, 2016-17 rebounding champion and 10-year NBA veteran, Hassan Whiteside!

Whiteside didn’t have the traditional path to becoming an established NBA center, playing just 19 games for the Sacramento Kings in 2010 and 2011 following his selection in the second round of the 2010 NBA Draft.

By 2013, he was out of the NBA and bouncing around teams in the (then) D-League and overseas before signing with the Miami Heat in November 2014. He’d spend five years in South Beach as one of the more intimidating defensive and rebounding presences in the NBA, leading the NBA in blocks-per-game once and rebounds-per-game once while with the Heat.

After leaving the Heat following the 2019 season, Whiteside played the last three years of his career in Portland, Sacramento and Utah.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Whiteside led the NBA in blocks-per-game once again in his lone season with the Portland Trail Blazers in 2019-20. With that being said, how many of the NBA’s block champions since the NBA/ABA merger can you name in seven minutes?

Good luck!
