WASHINGTON, D.C. — Bo Nickal continues to prove that his future in mixed martial arts extends far beyond his world-class wrestling credentials. Competing on one of the biggest stages of his UFC career, Nickal delivered an emphatic first-round stoppage victory over Kyle Daukaus at UFC Freedom 250 on Sunday night at the White House.
The former NCAA wrestling champion showcased his evolving striking game, stopping Daukaus via TKO at the 4:34 mark of the opening round in their middleweight clash.
The bout began as a competitive and physical contest, with both fighters looking to establish control early. For much of the opening round, the fight unfolded as a gritty battle that appeared destined to test both athletes in multiple areas.
Then Nickal changed everything with one explosive combination. Late in the first round, Nickal connected with a crushing left-right combination that immediately rocked Daukaus and sent him crashing to the canvas.
Sensing the finish, Nickal pounced. Daukaus attempted to cover up and survive, but Nickal unleashed a relentless barrage of punches that forced the referee to step in and stop the contest.

Since entering the UFC, Nickal has often been viewed primarily through the lens of his decorated wrestling background. Sunday’s performance offered another reminder that his striking continues to evolve at a rapid pace.
Nickal’s rise hasn’t been without challenges. In May 2025, he suffered the first loss of his professional MMA career against Reinier de Ridder, a setback that raised questions about his development against elite competition.
Since then, Nickal has responded exactly the way championship-caliber fighters are expected to. With back-to-back knockout victories, he has regained momentum and appears more dangerous than ever. Sunday’s win improved his professional record to 9-1 while pushing his UFC mark to 6-1.
