The last time the New York Knicks won an NBA title, they did it against the Jerry West and Wilt Chamberlain Los Angeles Lakers. But 53 years later, they’re finally back on top of the basketball world.
Behind 45 points from NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson, the Knicks topped the Spurs 94-90 in San Antonio to win their third NBA title in franchise history. Rallying from yet another double-digit deficit, Brunson tied Michael Jordan for the most points in a Finals-clinching win.
The Knicks entered the series on an 11-game winning streak with an absurd point differential, but constantly found themselves in double-digit holes in the Finals. But Brunson and the “Nova Knicks,” never wavered en route to the 4-1 “gentleman’s sweep.”
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the players to be named NBA Finals MVP can you name in six minutes?
