The Georgia Bulldogs went hard after the commitment for four-star wide receiver Jamir Dean from Alcoa, Tennessee.
It didn't matter to UGA that Dean had committed to the Penn State Nittany Lions on May 1 of this year. Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs offered him a week later, and they were able to get the talented wideout down to Athens a few times in an effort to secure a flip.
The Bulldogs put in the work, and ultimately, Smart and his staff were able to flip Dean from Penn State.
He took an unofficial visit after the UGA offer and then took an official visit to Georgia this past week.
That was all it took for him to change his mind and commit to the Bulldogs.
“Just going down to Georgia and seeing everything with my own eyes, and then going back this week and spending time with the players and coaches, I just knew I would fit in perfectly,” Dean told Rivals regarding his decision.

This is a big recruiting win for UGA. Conversely, it's a tough loss for new Penn State head coach Matt Campbell and his staff.
As a junior for Alcoa High School, Dean caught 53 passes for 1,141 yards and 16 touchdowns. He's also a star basketball player and track and field athlete.
"He's got a super unique multi-sport profile as he can get to the rim and score on the hardwood, but is also an exceptional high-jumper with elite markers as a sprinter, wrote 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins. "I mean heck, he was a state qualifier in the decathlon."
Dean is ranked as the No. 18 wideout in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports. He's the 15th commitment for Smart and the Bulldogs in this cycle.
