What will the Warriors do in the upcoming NBA Draft?

While the majority of the National Basketball Association is focused on the Finals, the NBA Draft is quietly two weeks away on June 24.

The draft gives franchises and fanbases a new hope by bringing in young players to boost rosters and potentially improve teams.

Teams watching the NBA Finals from the sidelines should try to emulate what the two rosters competing on basketball's biggest stage are doing, which is easier said than done.

Many teams have questions surrounding what they will do in the draft, but one team that is a major question is the Golden State Warriors.

What direction will the Warriors go in the draft?

The Warriors have pick No. 11 in the first round and No. 54 in the second round.

There has been a lot of speculation around what they will do with those picks, either make the selections or package them in a trade for a veteran player.

During the team's end-of-year press conference, head coach Steve Kerr proclaimed they needed more players who can play in back-to-back games. There are different ways to acquire more players who can navigate the regular season, but the quickest way is through the draft.

It would behoove the Warriors to take notice of the two teams in the Finals, the Spurs & Knicks, emulating what they have done by building a roster littered with young talent who can withstand an 82-game regular season and a 16-game postseason stretch.

Two young players could be a welcome addition to a roster with a core of 38-year-old Steph Curry and 36-year-olds Draymond Green, whose contractal decision is the key to their offseason, and Jimmy Butler.

The team has already started to bring in players for predraft workouts, mainly players projected to be second-round picks, but they are bringing in a player they have been linked to in the first round.

Michigan forward Yaxel Lendeborg highlights this group of predraft workouts, and could be an option for the 11th overall pick. The 23-year-old forward would be an ideal fit  giving them the youthful exuberance they have been seeking this offseason.

While an immediate injection of youth could be helpful, the Warriors need to add players who are ready to contribute immediately. If the organization is truly trying to do everything in its power to try to win while they have Curry under contract, it needs to stay away from younger players who are considered projects, a trap it fell into with the selections of James Wiseman and Jonathan Kuminga.

The organization does not have the time to develop young players for the future while trying to be competitive and win when Curry is in his final years with the organization, so perhaps packaging the picks as part of a trade would be its most prudent option.
