Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Jimmy Haslam hinted at making a decision about Giannis Antetokounmpo before the 2026 NBA Draft.
The clock is ticking, and with just a week away from June 23, trade talks for the former Finals MVP might heat up in the following days.
Giannis reportedly wants to play for the Miami Heat, but a trade offer involving Tyler Herro and Kel'el Ware isn't particularly appealing to the Bucks.
Over the past couple of days, the Boston Celtics have also been tangled up in trade rumors for Giannis. Nevertheless, ESPN insider Brian Windhorst doesn't see that happening for two reasons.
"In recent days, we have seen that the Boston Celtics have shown some interest, but a Celtics offer has a stumbling block: No. 1: You'd potentially be breaking up Jaylen Brown-Jayson Tatum. No. 2: It would mean changing the entire structure of the way the Celtics play basketball," Windhorst said.
Of course, landing Jaylen Brown would be much better for the Bucks than getting Herro, but Celtics general manager Brad Stevens has been reluctant to pull the plug on the Brown-Tatum duo.
As for playing style, coach Joe Mazzulla is a savvy tactician, and he'd certainly find a way to maximize one of the best two-way players of his generation.
The Celtics' championship window is still wide open, and they'll be one of the teams to look out for in the Eastern Conference with Brown or with Giannis.
That said, the Bucks also need to do what's best for them, and that means sending their player to whichever team is willing to give up the most to get the former MVP.
