The Texas A&M Aggies have secured one of the biggest wins of the 2027 recruiting cycle.
It's not just one of the biggest wins for Mike Elko and his staff. It's one of the biggest wins of the cycle, period. On Thursday, Kaden Henderson, a five-star linebacker from Tampa, Fla., committed to the Aggies. Henderson boasts nearly 50 offers, so he could have played college football literally just about anywhere.
In the end, though, it came down to Texas A&M and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and it wasn't an easy decision for the five-star.
“It’s been so hard,” Henderson told Rivals. “All of this has been a blessing, but when it comes down to the end, it’s a hard decision because of all the relationships you build.
“It’s been Notre Dame and A&M for a month or two now. You talk about relationships, education, alumni and development, and both schools have so much to offer. It was so hard to tell one no.”

The Aggies had been recruiting Henderson for over a year, and they never let up. He was originally recruited by defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Jay Bateman, but when Bateman went to Kentucky, new linebackers coach Travis Williams picked up the mantle. Of course, Elko had been a constant for Henderson as well.
“I trust Coach T-Will to make me the best player I can be,” Henderson said. “Coach Elko is a defensive-minded head coach who believes in me and knows how to use my versatility. The relationships with the people at A&M are real.”
This is a huge recruiting win for the Aggies, to say the least. According to the 247Sports Composite, Henderson is the top linebacker recruit in the country and the No. 22 recruit overall, regardless of position.
