Mets' Juan Soto moves up all-time list with latest multi-homer game

In leading the New York Mets to a 6-4 win over their division rival Philadelphia Phillies, Juan Soto accomplished something he's become known for at this point in his career. He added another multi-homer game to his resume.

Soto homered in consecutive at-bats to open the game, going yard with two outs against the Phillies in the first inning and then again with no outs on the scoreboard in the third.

Juan Soto is on a historic pace with multi-homer games

The two-homer night was the 30th time Soto hit more than one ball out of the ballpark. His 30 multi-homer games move him into a three-way tie for the most by any player in baseball history before turning 28 years old.

Soto, 27, matched Mel Ott and Ralph Kiner and has more year to tie Alex Rodriguez and Eddie Matthews with 31 each. Jimmie Fox owns the overall record with 32.

With both home runs being solo shot, Soto finished the game going 2-for-4 with the pair of home runs, two RBI, two run scored and a walk.

Soto's two new home runs give him nine in June with a week's worth of games left in the month. He's crushed 17 dingers in 58 games and 213 at-bats so far in 2026.

And in addition to his long ball total, Soto has 38 RBI with a .300 batting average, a .398 OBP and a bigger .582 slug.

Juan Soto has been one of MLB's top sluggers since entering the league

In the middle of his ninth MLB season between time spent with the Washington Nationals, San Diego Padres, New York Yankees and Mets, Soto has 261 career home runs, 735 RBI, 1,150 hits, 206 doubles and 806 runs scored. Soto's collective slash line reads as follows: .283/.416/.534.

Known as a clutch player, especially early in his career, Soto also has 11 postseason home runs, with five coming during the Nationals' run to the 2019 World Series title. But he will need more multi-homer games if he hopes to experience October baseball again — the Mets are 34-41 and still firmly in last place in the National League East even after the win.
