Dak Prescott puts pressure on Cowboys star ahead of make-or-break season

The Dallas Cowboys had one of the best offenses in the league last season, averaging 27.7 points per game.

That was the seventh-highest mark in the league and would've probably been good enough to make the playoffs.

However, they gave up 377 total yards and 30.1 points per game, the third-most and most in the league, respectively.

That's why Dak Prescott wanted to put some pressure on the defense to return to the promised land. As reported by Joseph Hoyt of the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys quarterback had an interesting exchange with star DT Quinnen Williams.

Dak Prescott wants the Cowboys defense to step up

"Dak Prescott said that Quinnen Williams reminded the team that he’s been in the league seven years and hasn’t made the playoffs," Hoyt posted on X. Dak: 'I told him I’ll get you to the playoffs, but I need you to go help us win it.'"

Team owner/general manager Jerry Jones spent vast resources on the defensive side of the field this offseason.

The team moved on from defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus and replaced him with Christian Parker, and they also added the likes of Rashan Gary, Malachi Lawrence, Jaishawn Barham, LT Overton, Dee Winters, Cobie Durant, Derion Kendrick, Devin Moore, Caleb Downs, P.J. Locke, and Jalen Thompson.

They will also have Shavon Revel and DeMarvion Overshown back on the field from day one, plus Donovan Ezeiuruaku should be in for a bigger role as a sophomore.

The Cowboys have already proved they can hold their own on offense, so their playoff chances will, again, hinge on whether the defense can get a stop.
