Phillies' Kyle Schwarber pursuing multiple all-time HR records

It was always going to be difficult for Kyle Schwarber to match or exceed his eye-popping 2025 season. Last season, he clubbed 56 home runs, two shy of tying the Philadelphia Phillies' single-season record, drove in 132 runs and slugged .563. 

But the power Schwarber has displayed so far this season, especially recently, has only further solidified his legacy as one of the game's top bats of this era. 

Schwarber homered on Sunday, a three-run shot into the upper deck at Citizens Bank Park, to help the Phillies win their weekend series with the New York Mets. His latest blast was his fourth homer of the series, adding it to the three he hit on Saturday as part of a four-hit, six-RBI performance during a 15-3 victory.

Schwarber's power surge has increased his major league-lead in home runs to 29, placing him one away from his sixth-straight season with 30 or more and eighth overall. If he gets to 40, that will mark four out of his last five seasons to that milestone number. 

Schwarber's 29 home runs are already two more than any past Phillies player ever recorded before the team's 80th game in a season. And Schwarber has reached 29 in just 74 games. He's on track to soar past Ryan Howard's 58 for the franchise's highest total in a season and then enter a new stratosphere, surpassing 60 and beyond.
