Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys are poised for a big 2026. It's not just a pipedream anymore. They have a solid core, plus strong rookies like Ohio State's Caleb Downs and UCF's Malachi Lawrence.
So, it's all smiles for Dallas during the offseason, but when the season starts, it'll be all about whether this team can pull off wins. But that's nothing to worry about. Dak Prescott is an MVP-caliber quarterback, and if his offensive line is solid, he could be an absolute powerhouse this season.
"Could this finally be the year?" That's a question Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports asked in a feature about the best-and-worst-case scenarios heading into the 2026 season.
"With George Pickens back on the franchise tag, Dallas continues to have one of the best one-two punches at receiver alongside CeeDee Lamb," Sullivan noted. "That helps Dak Prescott keep the offense among the most prolific in the league."
Sullivan also noted that the most significant changes for this team are on defense, and that's a good thing. Having Downs and Lawrence in the fold should help right away.
"The Cowboys now have a defense that can match the offense's ceiling and get back atop the NFC East," he said.
So, people are noticing that the Cowboys are a different team this season. Jones isn't always known for bold moves, but he made plenty during the offseason. Now, it's time to see those moves play out in real time.
