For some period of time over the weekend and on Monday, it appeared that Washington Wizards center Anthony Davis may be involved in another trade.
Reports were circulating that the Golden State Warriors were attempting to lure in LeBron James, trade for Davis and form a Big Four of James, Davis, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. For now, though, those rumors have been shut down with the latest updates out of the nation's capital.
According to senior NBA writer Marc J. Spears, the Wizards have no interest in exploring a trade that involves Davis. Spears revealed that one NBA executive said Washington general manager Will Dawkins is a massive fan of the 10-time All Star.
Davis was acquired by the Wizards prior to the 2026 NBA trade deadline in a trade that saw the Dallas Mavericks ship away AD in a nine-player, three-team deal, that saw the Mavs get Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Tyus Jones, Marvin Bagley III and several draft picks.
The Washington Wizards are not interested in trading 10-time NBA All-Star forward Anthony Davis and are not listening to trade offers for him, a source told @espn @andscape. Another NBA team exec says Wizards GM Will Dawkins is a huge fan of AD.

A trade of Davis never really made sense for the Wizards on the surface, considering they also acquired former All-Star Trae Young prior to last year's deadline. The Wizards also just selected BYU superstar AJ Dybantsa with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
At least for one season, it appears that Washington will try to be successful with the veteran duo of Young and Davis, along with a slew of young superstars like Dybantsa.
