When Mitchell Robinson agreed to a three-year, $47.4 million contract in free agency with the Boston Celtics, it left a big hole on the New York Knicks roster.
They seemingly filled that hole on Friday with a free agent agreement of their own.
According to a report from ESPN's Shams Charania, free agent center Andre Drummond has agreed to a one-year, $3.9 million contract to join the Knicks and fill the center spot that was vacated by Robinson's departure.
The 32-year-old Drummond has played for six different teams (the Knicks will be his seventh) over a 14-year career that has also seen him be a two-time All-Star and four-time rebounding champion.
He spent the past two seasons as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 6.5 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.

According to Knicks reporter Ian Begley, the Knicks made Drummond a priority in free agency due to his playoff experience and rebounding ability.
Karl-Anthony Towns is still the Knicks' difference-maker at center, but Drummond is a strong backup to fill the Robinson role. Especially when they are getting him at such a bargain rate under the cap.
Robinson averaged 5.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game in 2025-26, while also finishing eighth in the Sixth Man of the Year voting.
