Maple Leafs reportedly sign Ryan Tverberg to one-year deal

The Toronto Maple Leafs have worked hard throughout the offseason to reshape their roster ahead of next season.

According to salary-tracking website PuckPedia, the Maple Leafs have completed another move.

Toronto reportedly signed forward Ryan Tverberg to a one-year contract with an $850,000 cap hit.

The 24-year-old appeared in two NHL games for the Maple Leafs during the 2025-26 season but did not record a goal or an assist.

However, he played a key role for the Toronto Marlies in the AHL, appearing in 63 games and recording 15 goals and 21 assists for 36 points.

Maple Leafs add another piece to roster as summer activity continues

The Canadian franchise has been very active during the summer market and has recently completed several moves, including re-signing defenseman Troy Stecher and signing forwards Teddy Blueger, Zack MacEwen, Brandon Duhaime, Vinni Lettieri, Henry Rybinski, defenseman Cole McWard and goaltender Samuel Hlavaj, among others.

Even so, general manager John Chayka recently said that the team is not finished and did not rule out making additional difference-making trades.

"We think we've got some good stability through our lineup now. If we can add difference makers, I think we should always be trying to do that. And it does feel like there might be more liquidity in the market in these July, August months," Chayka said.

Although no elite players have been linked with Toronto, the Maple Leafs have recently been connected with veteran forward Claude Giroux, whose contract with the Ottawa Senators expired. He is currently an unrestricted free agent.
