Draymond Green isn't the kind of guy to sit back and keep quiet when something isn't right. He's not a quiet guy, in general. Green tells it like it is, and he's not scared to say everything on his mind, no matter what anyone else thinks.
Now, the former Michigan State University and current Golden State Warriors star is getting real about a Warriors rookie. This player is in line to succeed him, too, which makes it even more heated.
During a recent episode of his podcast, Green opened up about Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg claiming that he has been welcomed by Stephen Curry but not Green. Lendeborg, of course, is from the University of Michigan, the chief rival of Michigan State, so this is a bit of a college rivalry here, too.
On his podcast, Green said, "Yaxel's been ... lying, it's the Michigan way. This guy texted me, I text back within 30 seconds, this ... guy goes in an interview and says 'oh man, Steph reached out, texted Draymond, still waiting on a response back', you ... liar Yaxel."
Green added that he "had to expose the young fella a bit. We're not really a team very big on like, rookie hazing, but we can pick that back up, start having more and more rookie duties."
The moment Green said that lying was "the Michigan way," you know the Spartans listeners were rolling in laughter. Green knows how to keep things interesting, and his interaction with Lendeborg this season will be something to watch.
